SAIL, Poe, and a Long Lecture on How LLMs Actually Work

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share some resources that are helping me understand AI in a larger context. George Siemans writes an awesome newsletter<https://buttondown.com/SAIL/archive/sail-ai-products-america-still-winning-c...> on Sensemaking, AI, and Learning (SAIL) you can subscribe to without having to create an account, etc. That's where I found this very long video<https://youtu.be/7xTGNNLPyMI?si=Tp_GDH4R3BFmxUOv> from Andrej Karpathy on how LLMs actually work. It's an excellent overview that doesn't involve any coding or math with nice visuals that explain complicated concepts. If you want to play around with various LLM models, create your own bots, etc. I recommend Poe.com. Yes, some of the cutting edge models are subscription-only, and the free version has a limited number of tokens per day, but it's a great site for non-technical people to explore what AI can do. And if you do need to work on something longer, you can continue a chat the next day, which is what I've been doing.
