Sorry, everyone. I thought I'd hit forward on this (not reply) so didn't think it was going to go to the entire list!

Subject: Fw: Save the Date: CANRUG's First Annual General Meeting – May 8, 2025Hi Alex,

Hi, Matt. How did this go?

Not sure how much Kathy (or anyone else) mentioned, though I told her it was ok to tell people if anyone asked, but I had a detached retina on Apr 13th. I had surgery on Apr 14 and am just back today (part time to ease back into it). I still can't see out of that eye, but it should come back.

I'm sad to have missed the AGM.
Cindy

As a settler of German, English, Irish, and Scottish descent, I grew up in what is now known as Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan: Treaty 4 territory, which encompasses the traditional lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and Métis peoples. I have lived in Mohkinstsis (now known as Calgary) for most of my adult life, on the traditional territory of the Siksikaitsitapi (the Blackfoot Confederacy): the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani First Nations. This is where Treaty 7 was made in 1877 between the British Crown and the Blackfoot, as well as the Tsuut’ina, and Iyaxe Nakoda peoples. The City of Calgary is also home to the Otipemisiwak Métis government. St. Mary’s University is situated in District 6, the Calgary Elbow Métis.

Subject: [Canrug] Save the Date: CANRUG's First Annual General Meeting – May 8, 2025Hi Alex,

Hello everyone,

The group working on the transition from the Western Canadian User Group to CANRUG is in the process of planning CANRUG’s first Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The AGM is scheduled for:

Date: Thursday, May 8, 2025

Time: 10:00 AM PDT/11:00 AM MDT12:00 PM CDT/1:00 PM EDT/2:00 PM ADT/2:30 PM NDT

Please hold the time in your calendars. The meeting will be held online via Zoom and will last approximately 2 hours (the first hour will be for official business, the second hour will be for optional socialization).

I’ll follow up next week with a registration link and the full AGM meeting package.

After the AGM, we’ll begin the process for CANRUG’s first election and an online vote on the draft by-laws. We expect to announce the results of both before ELUNA.

Thanks you,

Matt Black

on behalf of the CANRUG

The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6).
