It is with great pride that I get to announce the results of the first ever CANRUG election ballot and vote this June 2025.
We had 92 votes submitted from approximately 190 eligible voters, which is 47%, slightly below the last Canadian election turnout of 69%.
I am happy to say that our by-laws were accepted unanimously, and two comments were submitted for us to pass along to the new board for their information and consideration.
We had two ballots, and Ratna Dhaliwal, from the University of Saskatchewan, had their acclamation approved as the incoming secretary.
The second ballot for the chair-elect (the person who will step into the role of CANRUG chair in 2026) showed a close result between our two candidates, Susan Bond from the University of Toronto and Michelle Goodridge from Wilfrid Laurier University.
This year’s CANRUG chair-elect is Susan Bond from the University of Toronto.
I would like to thank everyone for putting their names forward to help create and grow the newest regional user group, and I would like to encourage everyone involved to consider further involvement in our group moving forward.
