Hi everyone, (could someone please relay this to IGeLU list?)
I wanted to let the wider community know about this motion recently passed at a meeting of the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL)’s
Collaborative Futures Accessibility (CFA) sub-committee.
If your library or consortium is advancing initiatives within Primo VE, Alma, RapidILL, etc.
then please email me as CFA would like to build connections with you.
OCUL = Ontario Council of University Libraries
CFA = OCUL’s Collaborative Futures Accessibility (CFA) sub-committee.
Whereas CFA
is also founded on the understanding that accessibility is a collective responsibility requiring collaboration and consultation across OCUL member institutions,
Whereas Collaborative Future Accessibility sub-committee (CFA) has a responsibility to proactively identify and remove existing and potential barriers,
Whereas CFA is to champion proactively identifying and removing barriers that disadvantage individuals with disabilities
Whereas an ELUNA/IGeLU Accessibility Community of Practice has been formed and the ExLibris Canadian Regional User Group (CANRUG) has been formed.
Be it resolved that Collaborative Future Accessibility sub-committee recognizes that its responsibility to proactively identify and remove obstacles that disadvantage individuals with disabilities and to champion accessibility exists
within a widening collective responsibility that includes OCUL members, ELUNA/IGELU and CANRUG.
