Metadata/Electronic Resources Librarian

Librarians at Marymount are full time faculty and work a 12-month contract.

The Metadata/Electronic Resources Librarian provides leadership for the evolving role that library technical services and systems play in acquiring, describing, supporting, and improving access to the library’s resources.

Responsibilities include coordinating work team personnel, developing policies and procedures, overseeing the bibliographic control of the library collection, and managing electronic resources to ensure easy access for library users.

Minimum Qualifications
  • ALA accredited Master’s degree (MLS or MLIS)
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Experience using bibliographic utilities and integrated library systems
  • Experience using an electronic resource management system and link resolver
  • Working knowledge of national standards such as AACR2 (rev), RDA, FRBR, MARC21, LCSH, LC classification, and other metadata schemes (e.g., Dublin Core, EAD, TEI, MODS, and METS)
  • Working knowledge of standard bibliographic tools (MARC format, OCLC WorldShare,and Connexion, Voyager or similar integrated library system)
  • Working knowledge of Serials Solutions or other ERM and link resolver;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other routine information technology applications employed by libraries or universities for the management of library collections or the provision of library services.
Preferred Qualifications

Subject area expertise in one or more of the following areas: Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Biology, Health Sciences, or Philosophy
