MarcEdit Workshop
Jepson Hall Computer Lab (RM G28)
University of Richmond
Richmond, VA

May 1st and May 2nd, 2017
10:00 AM-5:00 PM

Since many of us continue to use MarcEdit, or have projects that would benefit from being able to use MarcEdit, PTPL is once again offering a MarcEdit workshop. The workshop will be a mix of lecture/demonstration and hand-on exercises. In the morning, the class will go over setting up preferences, working with the Main Window, and using tools like MARCJoin and MARCSplit. In the afternoon, the class will focus on the MarcEditor and actively engage in the range of tools and functions available.

By the end of the day class participants will be able to:

Set up and change your preferences

Join or split .mrc files

Convert files between .mrc and .mrk

Edit records individually or in groups using the proper syntax

To allow more individuals the opportunity to attend, the same material will be presented on two separate days. Registrants will sign up for either the May 1 workshop or the May 2 workshop. This workshop will include hands on exercises combined with lectures. Computers will be available for participants.
