Position Announcement George Washington University Libraries Metadata Services Manager The George Washington University Libraries invites applications for a Metadata Services Manager to work within the Resource Description Unit of The George Washington University Libraries Content Management Department. We are looking for an individual with an ALA-accredited master in library/information science or a Master’s degree in a related information field, or a doctorate degree. Demonstrated experience in information organization, cataloging, a minimum 2-3 years experience in an academic library, museum, archive or comparable environment, and a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience. Applicants should provide evidence of experience in creating, editing and transforming non-MARC metadata, such as EAD. Must have demonstrated knowledge in basic organizational, descriptive, structural metadata standards and best practices, such as RDA, AACR, EAC, DACS, DCRM(B), MARC21, Dublin Core, MODS, etc., thesauri, controlled vocabulary, identity disambiguation.
