Hello Mid-Atlantic Regional User Group members,

It was wonderful to see MARUG members at both ELUNA and our dedicated MARUG session. We want to provide you all with some brief notes from the MARUG session and open up nominations for position of MARUG Co-Chair, 2025-2027. 

Announcing new email list:

In case anyone did not see the email from us the other day, MARUG is using a new email list going forward to reflect the rebranding of our regional user group: marug@exlibrisusers.org

Any email sent to our old list will automatically be forwarded to the new list. 

MARUG ELUNA Session recap:

Highlights from the past year - 

- Annual meeting in November 2024

- Name change from DCRUG to MARUG reflecting years of feedback from our membership

- First ever meeting of MARUG volunteers that discussed format of future annual meetings, ideas around governance, formation of MARUG interest groups, and ways to better engage our membership on this email list

- Launch of the MARUG Analytics Interest Group

Hopes for the coming year - 

- Formal governance documents

- Increase activity on the listserv

Ideas/questions from the audience - 

- Folks would like to see us move forward with a monthly topic post to the listserv

- The next Primo Working Group chair (Cindy Bowen - Georgetown University and MARUG member) is interested in taking ideas/concerns from our membership/listserv back to the PWG. An area of interest for the coming year is the Next Discovery Experience (NDE)

Call for Nominations - MARUG Co-Chair, 2025 - 2027

Shane Hickey is stepping down as MARUG Co-Chair at the conclusion of his term later this summer. With that, we are seeking nominations for a co-chair to join Mary Beth Holm (2024 - 2026) over the coming year. Our co-chair terms run for two years and overlap to ensure a level of continuity from year to year. Any MARUG member is welcome to nominate themselves for this role. 

Duties of co-chair include: 

- Organizing our annual meeting (typically occurs in late October/early November)

- Moderating of and posting to the MARUG email list

- Organizing annual ELUNA in-person MARUG session
