Position Announcement George Washington University Libraries Metadata Services Manager The George Washington University Libraries invites applications for a Metadata Services Manager to work within the Resource Description Unit of The George Washington University Libraries Content Management Department. We are looking for an individual with an ALA-accredited master in library/information science or a Master’s degree in a related information field, or a doctorate degree. Demonstrated experience in information organization, cataloging, a minimum 2-3 years experience in an academic library, museum, archive or comparable environment, and a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience. Applicants should provide evidence of experience in creating, editing and transforming non-MARC metadata, such as EAD. Must have demonstrated knowledge in basic organizational, descriptive, structural metadata standards and best practices, such as RDA, AACR, EAC, DACS, DCRM(B), MARC21, Dublin Core, MODS, etc., thesauri, controlled vocabulary, identity disambiguation. Reminder: Annual Meeting registration

Hi Everyone: I'm sending this gentle reminder that if you have not registered for the Annual Meeting, there are 10 seats left as of this moment. The link to the registration form is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dERHZzlDcEFfcE9nR1dJS3… If you have already registered, consider yourself registered. I don't have a mechanism at this point to send a formal confirmation. However, if you want a personal confirmation, send me a reply to this email. I am managing the registrations through Google Docs. If you have any problem opening the form and registering, let me know and I can take care of your registration for you. We will have a full day of presentations, q&a's, information from Ex Libris, information from ELUNA, etc. Most importantly, will have an open discussion on the agenda to help the membership chart a course for the group and any future meetings or activities. Continental breakfast will be courtesy of Ex Libris. Lunch will be on your own (there are many wonderful lunch spots on Capital Hill). The meeting working time frame will be 8:30 to 4:30. The finalized agenda will be forthcoming. If you are interested in making a presentation and have not submitted one, please email Suzanne Picken picken(a)wrlc.org and she can assist you.
