Hi Everyone: I'm sending this gentle reminder that if you have not registered for the Annual Meeting, there are 10 seats left as of this moment. The link to the registration form is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dERHZzlDcEFfcE9nR1dJS3… If you have already registered, consider yourself registered. I don't have a mechanism at this point to send a formal confirmation. However, if you want a personal confirmation, send me a reply to this email. I am managing the registrations through Google Docs. If you have any problem opening the form and registering, let me know and I can take care of your registration for you. We will have a full day of presentations, q&a's, information from Ex Libris, information from ELUNA, etc. Most importantly, will have an open discussion on the agenda to help the membership chart a course for the group and any future meetings or activities. Continental breakfast will be courtesy of Ex Libris. Lunch will be on your own (there are many wonderful lunch spots on Capital Hill). The meeting working time frame will be 8:30 to 4:30. The finalized agenda will be forthcoming. If you are interested in making a presentation and have not submitted one, please email Suzanne Picken picken(a)wrlc.org and she can assist you. Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! The Annual Meeting will be held on Monday October 22nd, 2012 at the Folger Library in Washington, D.C., and our host is Jim Kuhn of the Folger Library. The meeting will be a full day with a presentation and Q&A with Ex Libris in the morning, then presentations from the membership in the afternoon. Please mark your calendars! As with any venue, we have to cap attendance at 40 people. At this point, I am also calling for presentations for the afternoon part of the program. If you would like to present at the meeting, please email your proposal to me directly. Suzanne Picken of WRLC, Jim Kuhn, and I are the planning committee so far. If you would like to help us out with selecting the presentations, please let me know and I will include you in our email loop. I will be sending a registration form via the list serv in September. Annual Meeting 2012

Hello everyone, Thanks to those who filled out the survey! It has been very helpful in beginning the planning for our next Annual Meeting! The majority of the respondents overwhelmingly requested that the meeting take place in the fall in either September or October. Planning is underway. I will be sending more details in the upcoming weeks to keep you informed. At this point, I would like to ask for specific information with regards to the breakout groups that are planned for the afternoon. Please take a moment or two and think about what topics you would like to a) share with other regional Ex Libris sites and b) what you would like to learn from other regional Ex Libris sites. If you have completed a noteworthy project, or if you are about to embark on one, just let me know and I will try to organize the meeting and breakout groups to help you with your needs. Please reply to me directly from this email, and I can begin to pull some ideas together for the program. Also, as I am currently in touch with Ex Libris for planning the meeting, let me know if there are specific questions you would like Ex Libris to entertain. I know I have been viewing recent webinars on Alma, and I have some questions about the future of Voyager/Aleph and will Alma be the sole product we will be using. Hello Elizabeth, We have a relatively small circ staff and are not reliant on student workers. We have individual accounts for all persons who work with Voyager. It's very easy to set up an individual account, and restrict their authority in the circulation set-up in Sys Admn. It would be a maintenance routine to delete any employee (regardless of status) when that employee is no longer in need of Voyager access. Considering how long MCC has been using Voyager, it seems a bit odd that a fundamental policy such as this would be still unresolved. Good luck! John John D. Hello All, I am faced with a bit of a challenge in that our access services supervisor has requested to have operator accounts for the students that work under her supervision. The student assistants would be responsible for working the circulation desk, including performing various tasks using the circulation module. Our IT Department has very specific guidelines governing accounts, passwords and overall software use, and I am just wondering how you and your libraries handle non full-time employees (students, volunteers, part-time, etc.) having access to specifically the circulation module. Our access services supervisor has had previous experiences where students were afforded generic log-on/accounts, and she has suggested this as a possibility with Voyager's circulation module.
