An ELUNA Federal Librarians Special Interest Group (FedSIG) is forming.

*Apologies for the cross-posting….* Looking for librarians who work in Ex Libris customer sites within the United States Federal Government. This includes libraries in all three branches (Legislative, Executive, and Judicial), located in the Washington DC area and throughout the country. This SIG is primarily issue-based, not product-based. Common issues faced by Federal libraries include: adherence to a set of strict security guidelines (FedRAMP compliance for the cloud, limitations on the use of third-party software, etc.), service as stewards of the public interest, issues unique to the nature of the Federal appropriations process, and obligations to adhere to additional internal requirements not seen by other groups. We plan to hold face-to-face meetings annually at ELUNA, possibly with one or two online meetings during the year. Our first meeting will be held at ELUNA 2020 in Los Angeles, where we will introduce the SIG, meet other Federal librarians, and identify relevant issues for discussion, collaboration calls, and future meetings. The IMF Library is part of Library Network that serves the information and data needs of clients in the IMF and the World Bank Group. The ideal candidate's primary responsibility includes the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance and ongoing support of the Integrated Library System (ILS), Alma/Primo and other related tools and applications. He/She will facilitate search, discovery, and delivery of library services and resources across different platforms and formats. The Systems Librarian is a member of the Library Operations team which is also responsible for troubleshooting client issues, managing the Library Network's website by developing enterprise library applications, metadata creation, taxonomy management and indexing Executive Board Documents. Call for Participation - Virginia Alma eBook Summit - February 22, 2019

Hello, VCU Libraries is interested in hosting a lively conversation about eBook management in general and issues particular to Ex Libris Alma on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 9:30AM-3:30PM at James Branch Cabell Library on our Monroe Park Campus in Richmond, Virginia. After receiving great preliminary feedback, we have structured the day to be a panel with Q&A in the morning and participatory programming in the afternoon. We are proposing 1-hour concurrent table talks and seek moderators to help guide those conversations. We are also proposing lightning talks and seek participants.
